My name is Ivet Gonzalez and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with other NASEF scholastic fellows to promote and support esports. I began my professional journey at Cal State Fullerton and graduated with a Bachelors in Liberal Studies and a minor in Computer Science. I then continued my teaching credential and Masters in Teaching at Chapman University. Immediately completing my student teaching, I began my teaching career at El Sol Academy. I have taught a total of 16 years in grades Kindergarten, first and third grade and middle school. During my tenure at El Sol, I have successfully implemented many different programs at El Sol such as, Google Expedition VR/AR, Hour Code, Minecraft e-gaming club, Dash and Dot Robotics club, and VEX IQ Robotics club. I am an innovative and energetic teacher who is always looking for opportunities to support student's interest and learning.

Why did you become a NASEF Scholastic Fellow?

I chose to become a NASEF Scholastic Fellow because I want to be part of a professional learning community that will support me in bringing esports and learning to our students.
